Dr. Lea Pollak, is graduated in nutrition with a PhD in the same field. Since 2002, she has been working at the Croatian Institute of Public Health, as a Head of Department for Food Supplements and Biologically Active Substances (since 2013.) and was Head of Department for Food Safety (up 2019.). She is involved in analysis, consulting, development, revisions and/or implementation of EU/RO legislation related to food supplements, PARNUT/FSG, nutritional and health claims, fortified foods and novel foods. Pollak, Ph.D., is the representative of the Republic of Croatia in the Working Group of the European Commission and EFSA for novel foods, a member of national scientific committees in the Ministry of Health and the Croatian Food Agency, and a lecturer at the University of Zagreb. Since 2017, he has been a tutor/lecturer at the European Commission, BTSF Trainings, for the field of food supplements for all EU member countries. She was involved as a member during the negotiations during the accession process of the Republic of Croatia to the EU.
